the kickout and stay away orders were denied on a temp-restraining order and i was kicked out anyway

If someone no longer wants you in their presence, be smart and restrain yourself.
You don't need a judge or piece of paper to tell you when its over, or maybe it never begun, so stifle yourself and stay 1,000 feet or more away from him or her.

It is unusual that the POLICE would serve and enforce a temporary restraining order or civil harassment order, but, sometimes it happens. These initial orders were likely temporary orders issued ex parte (before a judge and without input by the respondent). Clearly, at the subsequent court hearing the plaintiff did not prove his case. But, that does not mean that the plaintiff cannot visit this again.

As AJ said, it's probably time to move on - whatever the issue might be.
