HONOLULU (AP) — A 23-year-old man allegedly killed his 73-year-old lover, tried to make it look like a suicide, poured cement over his body in a bathtub and planned to fraudulently take ownership of his car and home in one of Hawaii's most exclusive gated communities, police said in court documents filed Friday.

Juan Tejedor Baron is charged with murder, theft and identity theft in the death of Gary Ruby, whose decomposing body was excavated by authorities earlier this week from a standalone soaking tub in Ruby's Hawaii Loa Ridge home.

U.S. Marshals and Los Angeles police arrested Baron after finding him in a crawl space at the back of a Mexico-bound bus in Anaheim, California. He was being held without bail pending extradition to Honolulu, and it wasn't clear if has an attorney.

According to a Honolulu police affidavit, Baron told a Los Angeles police detective he became angry with Ruby after sex.

"Baron stated that soon after, he noticed Gary choked on food, and Baron reacted by placing a belt around Gary's neck and tightening the belt until Gary lost consciousness," the affidavit said.

He allegedly dragged Ruby to a bathtub and used a kitchen knife to stage a suicide, then filled the tub with concrete he found in the garage, the affidavit said, but that only partially covered the body.

So Baron drove to a home improvement store and purchased four additional bags of concrete to fill the tub, the affidavit said, and "he used coffee grounds to cover the cement in an effort to conceal the smell of decomposition." The court documents don't specify when the murder allegedly took place.

Baron allegedly forged ownership papers to obtain the title to Ruby's 2020 Audi on Feb. 7, the affidavit said, and planned to acquire his home. According to property records, Ruby purchased the house in 2002 for nearly $2.2 million.

Honolulu police said they got a call Monday from Ruby's brother, who hadn't heard from him in three weeks. Ruby's last email to his brother mentioned he had "met a new love interest named Juan" who was significantly younger.

Two officers went to the house, where Baron told them he bought the home from Ruby five years ago. Baron changed his story, saying he bought it two years ago, after police told him Ruby bought it in 2020, the affidavit said. Baron claimed to have the deed to the house.

The operations manager for the gated community told police that on Monday, Baron arrived at the main office to register as the new owner of Ruby's house, the affidavit said, and that the manager received an email from Ruby's documented email address with the deed paperwork but no notary or signature on it.

On Tuesday, police, a medical examiner investigator and a forensic pathologist entered the home and found the cement-and-coffee-covered tub in the master bathroom with Ruby's body at the bottom of the tub.

Soon after Baron was captured Wednesday, Marshals and Los Angeles police arrested a 34-year-old man who Honolulu police had seen leaving Ruby's house when they spoke with Baron earlier in the week.

The 34-year-old man was later released after it was determined he wasn't involved in Ruby's death, Honolulu police said.

I think we are already there.

It's a pity that HI doesn't have the death penalty.

He'll go to prison where he will become somebody's b-tch until somebody shanks him.

I think we are already there.

Sadly, you might be right.
What with the latest actions of the Russkie dictator, add in the increasing savagery of the criminal element, if we're not there; we're damn close.

Here's a local example husband & wife argue, man tries to kill woman, kills the kiddos instead:

KILLEEN, Texas — Two children are dead following a domestic disturbance that ended in gun violence this morning, said Killeen police.

Around 11:12 a.m. officers responded to the 400 Block of Vega Drive on reports of a gunshot victim, according to a statement from the Killeen Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot wound, but still in stable condition.

She was immediately transported by EMS to Baylor Scott & White and is expected to recover from her injuries, said police.

Officers then learned of two female children inside the residence with gunshot wounds.

An 11-year-old girl with no signs of life was discovered inside and pronounced dead at 11:57 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at the scene.

A 6-year-old girl in critical condition was also found inside and airlifted immediately to McLane Children's Hospital.

Around 12:20 p.m. she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff.

A third victim was also discovered inside but was "unharmed."

All parties involved are related, said Killeen police.

Officers have since located and arrested the husband.

He is currently residing at the Killeen City Jail.

An investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing.

Killeen, TX.

Well known to me as I have read much about the Luby's Cafeteria massacre of 1991. It was probably the beginning of the concealed carry permit movement. TX passed its concealed carry permit law in 1995.

Suzanna Hupp, who lost both her parents in the massacre, later became a Republican member of the House of Representatives and an opponent of gun control legislation.

She had left her handgun in her vehicle in accordance with then TX law.

Had it been in her possession inside the cafeteria would she have been able to put a stop to the carnage and save a few lives? She believes yes, I believe yes. Others may give the usual opposing argument.

To be fair, and not pick on TX, AZ has had its share.

Notably, a mass shooting in Tucson in 2011, leaving 6 dead and 13 wounded. Among the wounded were long term Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Giffords, a Democrat, is a proponent of stricter gun control laws.

To be fair, and not pick on TX, AZ has had its share.

Gun violence and criminal activity are on the increase all across the USA, and some of it's territories!

The rise in crime is unaffected by broader, right to carry legislation.

Criminals are going to perpetrate crime on all available targets.

Law abiding citizens can hide in a bunker, hire private bodyguards, or avail themselves of all lawful means of self protection.

This one happened in Henderson, NV, not Florida.

HENDERSON, Nev. (KLAS) — A woman is accused of stabbing her date she had met online in retaliation for the 2020 death of an Iranian leader killed in an American drone strike, police wrote in court documents.

Nika Nikoubin, 21, faces charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and burglary.

Nikoubin and the victim met online on the dating website Plenty of Fish, Henderson police wrote in an arrest report. The duo then agreed to meet at Sunset Station on March 5, renting a room together.

While in the room, the pair began engaging in sexual activity, when Nikoubin put a blindfold on the victim, police said. Nikoubin then turned off the lights, and several minutes later, the victim "felt a pain on the side of his neck."

Nikoubin reportedly stabbed the victim in the neck "for revenge against U.S. troops for the killing of Qasem Solemani in 2020," police wrote in a report.

U.S. forces killed Solemani in a drone strike in January 2020.

After the stabbing, the victim pushed Nikoubin off of him and ran out of the room to call 911, police said.

Nikoubin also ran out of the room, telling a hotel employee that she had just stabbed a man, police said.

When talking to police, Nikoubin told an investigator "she wanted revenge," police said. She said she had listened to a song called "Grave Digger," which "gave her the motivation… to carry out her revenge."

A judge set bail at $60,000.

Prosecutors said Nikoubin has no ties to the Las Vegas community.

NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man who is believed to have attacked multiple people who were sleeping on the streets in Washington, D.C., and New York City, killing two of his victims and injuring three others, police said.

District of Columbia police said Sunday in a news release their investigators are working with the NYPD to find the man who fatally shot and stabbed a man Wednesday in the district and killed another man Saturday in New York City.

The suspect shot and injured two other people experiencing homelessness earlier in the month in Washington and one other person Saturday in New York, police said.

"We are committed to sharing every investigative path, clue and piece of evidence with our law enforcement partners to bring this investigation to a swift conclusion and the individual behind these vicious crimes to justice," Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said in the news release.

Police determined the same person committed the attacks based on the similarities of each shooting and evidence recovered from the scenes. The victims were attacked without provocation, police said.

New York Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in the joint news release the city's "homeless population is one of our most vulnerable and an individual preying on them as they sleep is an exceptionally heinous crime."

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting in the investigation.

New York Mayor Eric Adams said a task force composed of police officers and a homeless outreach team would focus on finding unhoused people in the subways and other locations and would urge them to seek refuge at city-owned shelters.

"The case is a clear and horrific intentional act of taking the life of someone, it appears, because he was homeless," Mayor Eric Adams said at a news conference. "Two individuals were shot while sleeping on the streets, not committing a crime but sleeping on the streets."

The attacks were reminiscent of the beating deaths of four homeless men as they slept on the streets in New York's Chinatown in the fall of 2019. Another homeless man, Randy Santos, has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in those attacks.
