Termination due to lack of work

I got fired from a construction company due to lack of projects. I worked as a project manager. There was nothing to do for me any more. The owner advised me to go for unemployment service and he will call me back, if the company will get more work. A few days later I got a letter from Unemployment Office, that my application for benefits has been rejected, because I quit the company. This is an obvious lie from the owner. What can I do ?

What can I do ?

I'm sure you can do any number of things. I'm equally sure that the letter you received contained some sort of statement about what to do if you disagree with the denial of benefits. You can and probably should also visit the IDES web site and dig around.

You can appeal the decision. The details of how to do so will be in the denial notice you received.
