Tenant eviction

Read the information published by your state's Consumer Affairs Agency:

If the landlord has asked you to vacate, you can ignore the request.
Eventually you'll be served papers by a sheriff or law enforcement agent, maybe a process server.
The summons will tell you where and when to appear for the trial.
Only after a trial has been held, can the judge issue an order evicting you.

Its best to avoid the filing of an eviction and leave.
A simple filing can inhibit you ever being able to rent a decent home for decades.
Make nice with the landlord, pay up, fix the problems, and leave of your own volition avoiding an eviction case being filed.
