I just recieved a letter from the IRS that I had claimed more money on my withheld tax than was reported to them by employers , I contacted ky tax preparer and he could not understand how that could have happened and that I owed the excess money from 2006 back to the IRS , I checked my past reyurns that this same person had done and found that the amount claimed for 2006 had been the taxes from 2005 that he had crossed , when I called him on this his answer was that I did owe the misclaimed moneys to the IRS and could not understand how that happened and if he did make a mistake that my 2008 return would be done for free , do I have a foot to stand on in this issue , such as go after him or am I just stuck , thanks for any advise.
