Tax Liens and Inheritence

I have a Texas sales tax lien against me and am about to inherit one third of my mother's estate which is money from the sale of her house. Is there any way to legally circumvent this. The AG's office already knows that the money is going into esgrow.

Why not pay off the lien and just be done with it? There is a reason why liens are filed...
