I have a question.
I am a contractor providing services to company A through company B.
I get a W-2 compensation from company B.
There is a contract between company A and company B.

Company A is ready to terminate contract with company B and establish a new contract with company C. Company C is ready to hire me.

What can be the legal implications on this.
What can go against me/ what can be favorable for me...What is the best way to do this.

Thanks

If you are a Green Card Holder, or US citizen, very little can go wrong.

If you're a work visa holder, you might want to work with an immigration lawyer.

You know what you're NOT supposed to do.
If you don't, review the documents USCIS gave you, or ask them: www.uscis.gov

Hi,
Thanks for replying promptly.
I am worried about company B ..What is the worst they can do in this case?
Or is it straight forward to just ignore it.
Thanks

If you're on one of those "H" visas, they could refuse to allow you to transfer.

That means the other company can't hire you, unless you go back to your homeland, get in line, reapply, wait, etc...

That program is going to end, no matter who gets elected.

How soon?

I'm told it'll be sunset by October 2017, maybe October 2018.
It all depends on how fast the global economy implodes.

I am not on H visa...does it mean I am good to go.
