A little over a year ago, I was in a car accident. I was at fault b/c I rear-ended the other vehicle in front of me. The people in the other car made a settlement w/my insurance company a few months ago. After they took the settlement, they decided to sue me. My questions are, how can they sue me for money they've already gotten from my insurance company and will my insurance company provide some type of legal assistance or am i on my own?

Your insurance company is responsible to cover only what your policy entitles you to. If their damages are more than the amount your policy covers, some states or laws permits them to sue you for the rest of whatever is not covered. Your insurance company can provide you info and advice on what they settled for………..your lawyer would review it and see if they have a case. The insurance company would not assist you if you are charged on a personal level which has nothing to do with them.
