It was a bad day for me and my boyfriend. After we had a shoplifting accusation in a store, he was so excited and upset about it and got a speeding ticket. We were driving on the highway outside of Chicago and everybody was speeding technically. It was like 10 or 15 MPH over the speed limit. Nobody got stopped. Everybody was driving at the same speed. The cop put on his lights and told us to pull over and gave him a speeding ticket. I don't understand. If everybody is driving at the same speed then how can they give out a speeding ticket to just one car?

If everyone else is jumping off a bridge are you going to do it too?

The police can only stop one car at a time. It was your turn this time. Regardless of what everyone else is doing you are expected to follow the rules of the road.

It doesn't matter what everyone/anyone else was doing, your boyfriend was still speeding & the officer can certainly give him a ticket.
