Personal Bankruptcy stolen boat recovered after bankruptcy

I purchased a boat in 2003 that was financed. I made payments until 2005 at which time the boat was stolen from my home. I filed police report and advised finance company and faxed them copy of report.
Later in 2005 I filed bankruptcy and included the remainder of that loan.

Last month police in another city called me and advised me the boat was found. I spent $500 picking it up. I don't know what to do from here.
Is it legal for me to keep it? Since the theft was 3 years ago and the finance company wrote it off?
Can I get it registered?

You need to caontact the finance company-- or the insurance company-- mainly who ever now has the title, you no longer have rights to that boat--
