My husband of 11 1/2 years left me for another woman. We have had physical custody of his daughter(my step-daughter) for 10 years. Natural mother has visitation rights, but that is about a much as she has had to do with her daughter. I have been the one that has raised her and we have the "mother/daughter" bond. Since my husband left, the daughter has been staying with me. The daughter refuses to live with her father and mitress and she refuses to live with her natural mother. She would like me to sue for guardianship. She would like to be able to have a say in where she goes. One, is she old enough to talk with courts?(she is 15 1/2 years old)Two, what are my chances?

Will either of the parents give up their rights? I have heard that a child has the right to decide where they live after age 14, but i am not sure if you are not a natural parent. Good luck
