I bought my home in Florida in 2002. Last year I started having septic issues. Upon inspection I was told the septic tank was improperly installed/hooked up to the house and the old one had to be replaced with a new one in order to rectify the issue. Do I have any legal recourse to get this corrected, since it was obviously like this when I purchased the home? Or, is there a statute of limitations on this kind of thing?

Read your purchase contract or other installation documents. I doubt you have recourse 10 years after the fact these days. This has become an instant coffee, disposable society.

my kids could fall in our septic tank

Our septic tank is falling in. It's overflowing and stinks. We have been asking our landlord to fix it for the past three and a half years. What can be done. Please help.
