Starting a Business Start a company on L1

Hi Experts,

I am an Indian national - currently in US on L1 visa. I am employed full time. I also have a valid B1 visa.

I wish to start a company here in US. Myself, a US national and an Indian company will be equal share holders.

My questions are
1. Can I start a company while on L1 visa, while I continue working my current organization?
2. If I take sabbatical from my current company, can I continue to legally stay in US and work for my startup or do I need to return back to US?
3. If the answer to both the above questions is a NO, can I come back to US on B1 visa and start a company?

You need to pose your question to the immigration officials. Or, ask officials at US Embassy or Consulate.
They will decide.
There seems to be confusion amo g many as to whether what you propose is allowed.
Besides, only the immigration or proper US authorities can say.
