Does anyone know of a good attorney in the Southgate Mi area, or know where I could look to find one? My fiancee is about to have a mental breakdown due to his employer and I need to figure out how to stop this before it happens. It's starting to make him tense and jumpy and moody at home, and its making our sex life non existant.. I can't take much more of this.

I read both of your posts. Sometimes posts don't get a reply because the title of the post is too vague, or because no one really knows the answer.

With regard to your fiancee's workplace, I'm surprised that it is located in Southgate. I assumed it was located in a rural area, not a suburb of Detroit!

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm quite sure that a woodstove is not an approved heating device for an auto repair shop. I think you should contact OSHA to report the conditions in the garage. This is the link to OSHA.

As for your other questions, I don't know if you have any recourse. I really think your fiancee and his roommate should try to find jobs at a more reputable shop or repair chain.

Thank you for responding, and my fiancee is actually waiting on a few calls from other jobs, but our roommate has no time due to the fact they are required to work 8-6 m-f and some saturdays... and with the bills he wont take a day off work. Michigan economy sucks right now.. really bad....

Well, I hope he gets the new job. I really encourage him to call OSHA regarding the woodstove and other working conditions. You might try calling the local fire department as well. That garage sounds so dangerous!

we did contact osha before the new year, and they still havent proceeded with anything (that we know of anyways, they dont tell you when obviously) and the whole contacting the fire dept thing... police officers are in and out of there daily since they tow for the police dept and no one says anything.... but there shop is located in the next city over, so i dont know if they would even say anything since it isnt there jurisdiction... there shop is on the border of 2 cities, they tow for southgate, but the shop IS located in brownstown... how long does osha usually take?
