When I asked the question as to the maximum allowed by Washington State in a garnishment against Social Security, this would be against a former husband for unpaid alimony. I have a court order for a garnishment and I have begun the process. I was wondering if anyone knew What the maximum percentage is allowed by the State of Washington to be taken from his Social Security check.

That depends on what kind of social security he is receiving. There is SSI for disability or old age. There is SSDI or disability under retirement age and there is regular SS retirement which can have an SSI component if the person did not earn a high enough amount of credits.
