Should I have to have a doctor's note to use accumulated sick time?

I have been out sick once a month for the past three months. I had more than enough sick time to use, but my supervisor stated that I need a doctor's note. Why should I need to have a note if I have sick time to use? (The only thing stated in our policies is that we need a doctor's note if we're out 3 or more days in a row.)

Because your supervisor asked for a doctor's note.

Totally legal and far from uncommon. The fact that your company provides more generous leave than you need means nothing. Monthly absences can trigger FMLA and needing a day off every month is still not common.

You need a note because your supervisor is asking for one - it doesn't matter how much sick time you have. Policies can be changed at any time & there can be exceptions to policies.
