I have an old debt which was bought by another company. I didn't recognize it at first, but when i did, I realized that it was settled about 4 years ago.
Now a collection agency is trying to sue me for the debt. If on the settlement letter it said that if I made a certain payment they would consider my account "as settled in full." I know that 'settled in full' is not really positive, but it is better than Serious Delinquincy - Unpaid. Well, I pulled a copy of my credit report to find that it is there - after I settled with them. Is there any recourse I can take for this negative information remaining on my report?
Thankyou for your reply.
