I've been accused of shoplifting about $35 worth of stuff from a dollar store and I did not do it! I had receipts for the stuff I was accused of stealing but the manager and officer both refused to look at them and said I was lying! They then confiscated EVERYTHING I had in my bag which is a large purse, including $40, private papers, and the receipts.Of course it's my word against theirs because they say only the "stolen items" were taken.
I need advice!!!! Thanks

they are pressing charges and they have no video tape....
Then ask the police about the disposition of your cash and private papers.

When you go to trial you can bring that information forth in your defense. If the state cannot offer proof beyond a reasonable doubt, you will prevail. How compelling these witnesses will be is something we cannot assess.
