Roommate is trying to take a tv he gave too my girlfriend

My roommate is my girlfriends brother, and their family was going to give my girlfriend their family tv to my girlfriend, the only reason it was givin to him was because their a boy based culture, anyway he agreed it was to be givin to my girlfriend in a private conversation, he's now claiming it's his tv over an argument, do we have any recourse?

"We"? As described, this has nothing to do with you.

As far as your girlfriend goes, it doesn't seem she owns the TV, so she wouldn't have any recourse either.

It's up to whoever owns the TV to deal with this.
