My ex and I broke up and i' ve heard so many things, like the mother has custody right away to the child, he is threatening to take me to court for her tho..but he is on probation and all that for drug poss, breaking entering and is still paying fines, i doubt he'd be able to get her..i have no idea could i get some help?

Well you selected this guy to be a father so he will have some rights if he takes you to court for them. Until paternity is established he will have none.

That's correct. But please keep in mind that once he does he WILL get some kind of custody. Probably Joint Physical and Joint Legal (decision making).

Your child is not an object. She has a right to have a loving relationship with BOTH parents. Please consider taking a parenting class or reading a co-parenting book or two. These will help teach you how to change your thinking and consider what truly is in your child's best interest.
