My resume or curriculum vitae has been subpoenaed. My ex-husband is contesting child support. In his bid, he has already discovered my work, my bank statements, my taxes. I don't want to give him a resume. Is this something I have to do since he already has documentation of my past and current work? I feel that my privacy has already been violated. He has stalked me in the past and the concern is that he will try to jeopardize my livelihood since he has tried this in the past. I just don't want to give him this information in writing.

If you have it, you're required to produce it.

But, the requirement to produce must be very specific.

If it isn't, it allows the person subpoenaed great latitude in what they produce.

Read the subpoena carefully, then respond accordingly.

Alternatively, you can attack the subpoena with a motion to quash. Talk to your attorney about that.

It seems that Dad's team is trying to get proof of your earning capability - not your actual earnings.

I'd think it was completely irrelevant, but sometimes parents and attorneys get these odd little ideas..
