Replica t-shirts?

I have made some replica t-shirts of a costume used in a movie...pictured... I listed them as replicas of tshirt in movie...

I wanted to sell them on EBAY, I contacted EBAY, and they reviewed my ad, and said it was fine, as long as i didn't advertise it as an original.

I sold several (25) and now PAYPAL (same company as EBAY by the way) is now saying i am violating a copyright?

Any thoughts?

Paypal is probably wrong, but they're using an abundance of caution.

You'd be wise to heed their admonishment.

Difficult to say - look at this. The advertiser claims this is from Urban Outfitters

This one is supposedly made by Christian Dior, who might have some copyright and trademark issues with regard to what's written on the shirt - after all, is it about that brand?
