Does a landlord have the right to hold a key to the commercial rental property? What are the rights of the renter?

    what does the lease state?

Generally, yes, as an employee of a property management company/landlord who leases commercial rental property, we keep a key to every space we lease. If you don't trust them, then why did you lease from them? Did you ask if they were insured/bonded before you signed the lease?

An alarm system will usually resolve any concerns you might possess.

But, you should read your lease before you do anything you haven't already done.

Everything you need to know is in your lease.

Its best to read the lease COMPLETELY, TWICE, before you sign ANY lease.

If you don't understand a portion of the lease, ask your lawyer.

    Yes.

Nebraska doesn't have a commercial landlord tenant statute so your "rights" are those that are spelled out in your lease.
