Registration hasnt been paid in 5 years

hi, i have a truck that i didnt put in non opt and its just been sitting there in my backyard for a while now

I called the DMV to see if i can sell it and they told me it would costs 2500 in fees. Is there any way around this? Will transfering the title delete those fees? Will salvaging do anything? Please help! Thanks

Is the vehicle currently registered in your name? Do you hold clear title?

You might be able to donate it to charity ... I believe they will take care of the paperwork in many cases.

Having not registered non-op you would have a hard time proving that the vehicle has not been on the road for the last five years and they will expect you to pay the registration fees.
You will not have to pay these fees unless you decide to put the vehicle back on the road. You will not be able to sell it without taking care of the fees.
