i really need help i have been living with my mom for about 7 years of my daughters life and she will be turning 8 years old this march. and with the constant fighting with my mom when it comes to money and my daughter sophie . i have made a firm decision to move out of her house and into a apartment. in mid feb my whole family is not supportive and they all say i am a horrible mother to my daughter sophie. and if i move they will fight to have her removed from my custody. i am really upset that sophie is so uo sp upset and says she does not want to go with me to our new apartment. and she witnesses all the verbal fights and she says she wants to live with my mom . i just dont know how to handle this can she decide under maryland law who she wants to live with. i need legal advice can they have a case ?because she does not want to go. how do they prove i am a unfit parent.

Sophie cannot decide with whom she wants to live. You are her mother and are free to move with here when and where ever you deem fit. As long as you are feeding, clothing, putting a roof over, and not subjecting Sophie to any criminal danger it would be extremely difficult to find that you are an unfit parent.
