My daughters father owes over 16K in back child support. He is currently in the US with a green card, although he hasn't had a steady job in two years. If I notify Child support services that he is in violation of the order, could he be deported? I do not believe he has steady work, and if he does, he is not paying taxes as its under the table. Its complicated. Thanks so much!

State child support and collection agencies has no authority to deport anyone.

The various state child collection agencies purport to assist parents or guardians in collecting unpaid child support from DEADBEATS.

In SOME cases, the state agency can attempt to have the DEADBEAT arrested and brought before a judge to answer to the allegations of unpaid support.

That said, from my observations, Homeland Insecurity and all of its related agencies have little interest in deporting the BORDER INVADERS, either.

Homeland Insecurity claims you can report the presence of ILLEGAL ALIENS (which I don't doubt that anyone can report these alleged transgressors), I DO doubt that Homeland Insecurity will take action after the report.

Nevertheless, you can TRY:

Nope, he won't be deported for that. He might be refused citizenship but that's about all.

His green card won't be revoked, either.

I have to ask though - who sponsored him, and was it via the I-864?
