Im in a real mess with my X and im searching for facts about how childsupport works for a self employed artist/ emerging designer builder.
My annual income ranges from $15,000 35000 and one year i think i made near 50000. My income is never the same every year is different.
My X expects me to pay the most or says ill go to jail!!! :(
How can i possibly afford 1000 a month if I make $15000 a year or even $30000 a year!?

Her words have made me depressed, anxious and near disfunctional at times totally loosing sleep. This has been the worst financial year ever for me I have never lost so much money from not being able to stay on top of the finances and im totally lost with the taxes.

Ive been trying to stay on top of child support and have paid $5000 over 8 months .I even gave her a check recently before I have paid rent for last month jan or feb.

Any facts will be Greatly appreciated

If you have a drop in income then you need to apply for a reduction, otherwise you have to pay what the order says.

Being self employed is tricky, because its easy to hide income. Also if you only made 15k in a year, the courts might consider you under-employed and you might be expected to take on another job that pays more.
