This case is based out of Fresno, CA, regarding a custody hearing. The other party was served in person, by a third party. After being served the "proof of service" was filed with the court. The person that was served showed up for the court date.

At the time of serving, is there a form that should have been filled out & signed by the process server & given to the other party? I need to know the full steps regarding serves. Feel like they were followed correctly as explained by an attorney.

I ask because this person's lawyer after the fact is now claiming "improper" service. The person has since lost custody of the child. Is this just an attorney reaching for anything/everything to discount the lost of custody?

Thanks.
