My husband is incarcerated and has a 13 year old daughter. Her mother passed away in 2002. Her maternal grandparents has guardianship over her. They want to sign guardianship over to thier daughter (child's aunt) and mover her to Arkansas. The child does not want to go. The child's paternal grandmother lives locally and so do I , her step-mother. We have both stated she can stay with us. The grandparents will not allow it, they do not like the child's father nor myself because of their daughter. My husband wants me to adopt her which I would.

What rights does he have in say over were she goes to live? What do we have to do to contest the guardianship change? They are trying to do it quickly before we can get our feet on the ground.

What rights do her paternal grandmother have?

Can I contest the guardianship on my husbands behalf with general power of attorny?
