Hello,

My priority date registration is coming up shortly. I have form I797, will need to File I485. My question is, I am a Pakistani National and needed to register a year or so back with INS, which I did not do and now INS does not require it. Will this effect my status when filing I 485?

The new rule does not excuse any prior failure to register. You may want to speak to an attorney about this issue, especially since homeland security matters are sensitive.
