I am a 31 year old and 4 months pregnant. I would like information on what I options I have. I am seeking information on filing a paternity suit, child support laws, child custody laws, and if necessary termination of father's parental rights. I would also like to know at what stage I should start legal proceedings as I am only 4 months pregnant. The father of the child is married and if possible I would like to handle all legal issues as discreetly as possible without interruption of his current family life.

Your post is confusing. You do not wish to disrupt this mans current family life but you are interested in the possibility of filing a paternity suit? You would like information on termination of his parental rights but you're also interested in child support?

Filing for paternity is done after the child is born through DNA testing. Once paternity is established the father would have rights to his child also. He if wished, he could request joint custody as you could request child support. You cannot terminate his rights and often the court will not even grant his request unless you are also married and have a husband willing to adopt this child.

Once his rights are terminated the child would no longer be considered his and he would not be legally required to provide financial support.

Your post makes no sense. You need to establish paternity and file for child support if you want his help. How inthe world do you plan on not disruping his family life? You got pregnant by him, you have already done that. You cannot terminate his rights just because he is married, the courts do not do that. It is up to you on whether or not you wasnt to do anything. If you do not wish for him to be involved, then do not file for anything. You can keep him anonynous, as long as you do not file for any sort of government assistance.

Right now it is way to early to do anything, if you do anything at all. If you can get Dad to oay you some support money, discreetly, that is up to you 2.
