I am the plaintiff in a small claims case for unpaid wages and will be joining a pre-trial conference via phone.

From the little I can find about it, this is a minor opportunity to secure a judgment if I present a strong case and the defendant can't support his denial. Is that right, or is it really just a formality where things don't often get settled?

Any tips or advice are appreciated.

Hi, I am facing similar circumstance, My former employer has held back loyalty reward and some bonus. I would imagine that it is always good to get a good start. Presenting your case with clarity and clearing any ambiguity right away should be a good move.
