Pre-employment drug screenings question.

I have been attending classes for the past couple weeks for a job, took the pre emplyment drug test, it came back being dillute, should I have been able to retake the test? I was told to try again during a future training. I was under the impression that with a dillute standard rule is to retest at least 1 time.

They are under no obligation to retest you

What state are you in? Whether they must retest, or whether they can opt whether to retest or not, is determined by state law.

Why would the state be involved in a pre employment test where the only consequence is not being hired?

The state does not get involved directly.

However, some states have laws that directly address drug testing. In at least one state I can think of, the employer isrequired to retest. In others, the law gives the employer the right to decide if they will retest or not.

Until we know what state the poster is in, we cannot know if his state has any laws addressing drug testing or what the employer is or is not required to do with regards to retests.
