My fiance received paternity papers on a child now four years old. The papers were court ordered not only to him, but the mother as well. Does this mean that the child may be in the states custody seeing on how the papers were not issued from the mother to my fiance?

We have no idea what the paper states so we can't begin to take a guess at what it means. I'm guessing the mother's name is on the papers because it is pretty easy to know whom the mother is and any action regarding the child concerns her.

The papers are a petition from the courts to my fiance and this childs mother. If she was looking for child support wouldn't she be the one submitting the papers?
