Petitioning court for opening adoption records

I wanted to know if anyone has successfully petitioned the Michigan courts to open thier adoption records on the basis of the Indian Child Welfare Act to optain tribal membership.

Great question except it would seem that doing so would be rare. Wouldn't you think that the greatest support that you might receive for pursuing this might be from an American Indian Organization that would probably be most familiar with this issue? This might be the most expeditious and least expensive routes and I'm sure that someone else in your situation has probably passed through their doors before and could lend firsthand assistance with regard to what to expect.
