Criminal Law pending misdemeanor

Hello.
I am an Italian citizen who was charged with possession of narcotics (misdemeanor) in New York in 1997. Unfortunately I had to leave the country in a hurry and thus failed to appear at the hearing.
I am now planning to travel to the United States - and specifically to New York - for work: will I be arrested or sent back when I set foot on US soil?

You need to contact a criminal attorney who also practices immigration law. Yes you could be arrested. Try getting this cleared with an attorney before trying to come here. Don't forget that also violates the visa waiver program. You have to admit to it.
