Paycheck being withheld

The company I am currently employed with is withholding my paycheck for paperwork that is due. I am a salaried employee. They are also holding paychecks for two other individuals for the same reason. The paperwork due is a timesheet we have been required to fill out for unknown reasons. Again, we are salaried employees. How legal is this in Georgia?

Not at all. Nor would it be legal in any other state. They MAY, in all 50 states, require you to fill out a timesheet EVEN IF you are salaried exempt (in fact, there are two states, at least, where it is required by law). They may not hold your paycheck, in any state, until you do so.

However, the bad news is that Georgia has a very weak Department of Labor and it is not likely that they will be of much assistance. While you can file a claim for the wages in small claims court, a much faster solution would be to simply complete the time sheet and turn it in. You CAN be disciplined (up to and including termination) for not turning it in, you know; it's just that the discipline cannot take the form of withholding pay.
