Paternity Case

Hi. I was wondering if someone could answer my question. I recently had a child with my boyfriend, he signed the parentage form and birth certificate. About 5 weeks after the birth another man decided he wanted a paternity test because he felt that my baby was his. I talked to a lawyer and she told me that he is aloud to ask for one and what I can do to get him to leave me alone is to do one with my boyfriend and have that prove to him that he is not the father. I just got back the results and it proves that my boyfriend is the father, now the man who wanted this test in the first place is pretty unstable and crazy. He stalked me for a long time. I was just wondering if once he gets the proof it he can still ask for us to do a test with him? Or if he has to take this proof and leave us alone now. Please let me know.

You do not have to do anything unless you have a court order. Ignore this man and tell him to stop contacting you or you will file a restraining order.

Can you tell me how much the paternity test cost? I have aked my case worker about having one done and they told me I had to petition the courts and it would be at my expense.

around $500 dollars for a legal one and an at home costs anywhere fromm $100-$300.
