I was overpaid in hourly rate from my employer by their own mistake and now they are telling me I have to pay it back... I would like to know if this is legal? As far as I am concerned it was their mistake and I shouldn't have to pay this back.
You are asking why didn't I notice??? I had received a raise from the company and wasn't told exactly how much I would receive and then I noticed more money on my check. They performed an audit and realized that I was being paid more than I should, they notified me that I would have to pay this back. Is this right?
I think that it was their mistake and I understand that I will be paid less but do they have the right to take back the money I was "Overpaid"?? I hope someone can answer my questions!! Please HELP ME!!!
