My son quit college at 19 and I been paying child support for him until his 21st birthday. Can I go to court to get any money bacK. The state is New York and county is Ulster. He was living home and had a full time job. Thank you. Zucc

Talk to a lawyer and end the madness.

Most child support orders end at 18, or when the lazy kid quits progressing in college.

That, however, is very rare anymore.

You didn't modify the order, did you?

If you didn't, the money is gone. You cannot get it back.

Child support orders do not end automatically; the parent (either can do it actually) must file in court to end the support based upon the change in circumstances.
