I am a single female senior. My neighbors down the street conned me into getting their son to mow my lawn. Before these neighbors noticed me, I had not had problems with my garage door, sprinklers, lawn, or trash being strewn in front of my home. I began to realize whenever these people wanted money they would harass me by messing with my property at the front of my home. A poor family moved in next to me. They began to beg at my front door and at my garage door for "jobs for money" and just plain money, bothered me every time I went out of my home, so much so I had to sneak out of my house to avoid them. I did not stop talking to them until they had gotten about $1000 out of me, and I realized they had taken to breaking or ruining things at the front of my house, and when they started taking down our adjoining fence without permission on my part. I then found they were friends with the thuggish neighbors down the street. Since then, I have been harassed on the street, on my way to and from work, at my gym, had crank calls, my mail stolen. Every time I took this problem to the local authorities, I was told I had to have proof, and was told to have a restraining order made against them. I think a restraining order would only enrage them. Whenever I work on my property at the front of my house, it is somehow these people's business. I try to avoid them. But I feel like a prisoner in my own home. How can one reveal to the public what bullies these people are, so they don't get away with what they are doing?

Sorry, telling others about these brutish thugs won't help you. Even if you obtained a restraining order, these oafs wouldn't care. They'd keep on causing chaos, anarchy, and havoc in your neighborhood.

You could move.
You can have a bigger, better, stronger, taller fence installed.
You could stop working outdoors and hire a more professional groundskeeper.

You could stoop to their level.

You could continue to ignore them.

Finally, you could continue reporting them to the police when they appear to be breaking the law or disturbing the peace.

Other than that, this is the depraved state of society these days, and it's falling faster each and every day!
