Obtaining custody with dependency case involved already.. please help

We have had custody of my step son for almost 10 months through DCF. This also happened 2 other times previously. The mothers paramour's have all moved in with her and sold different types of drugs. 2 of them in prison currently, and one pending charges for morphine sale on 2/22/08. The same man that overdosed on Morphine in front of the 9 year old boy while he was supposed to be supervising him.

I filed a petition to modify custody and child support.

I have a hearing set for November 4th.

I need kind of an outline.. how do I present evidence and enter into discovery?

What do I file to represent my husband (we cant afford a laywer)

I have a hearing this Thursday, how do I ask them to not make any decision until November 4th when we have our 2 hour block?

Can anyone help guide me through this?

I may be wrong, but I don't believe you can represent your husband in court unless you are a lawyer. Your husband can represent himself without a lawyer (pro se), but you have no standing in the courtroom.

You may find instructions for court procedures and forms online if you google your state's or county's court self help. Your court system may have a family law facilitator too, so check with the courthouse.
