My husband and I have been separated since May. We have 2 children together. I have a son from a different father that has never been involved in my sons life, provided child support, etc. My husband spoke of adopting the oldest child, but we never made it official.
The children's father frequently works out of state. Currently, we have not seen him for about 6 weeks because he has been working in Kansas (we live in Oregon). During this time the father has not maintained regular contact with the kids. There will be weeks at a time where we won't hear from him (doesn't call to check on the kids, doesn't return phone calls) and will receive no financial support either.
I want to move with all 3 of my children to Georgia, where my Mom, Brother and sister-in-law live, so I can provide a stable environment with reliable/safe care for my children and have the support I need to get an education and ultimately be able to support my family. (I have been a stay at home mom for 10 years). No legal papers have been filed. No temporary papers, no custody papers, no support papers, no divorce papers, etc. Can I move to Georgia without suffering any repercussions from the father? I fully intend to cooperate and establish visitation for the kids with their Dad.
