My two nephews (who are very good kids) were playing basketball and the ball rolled over to their backyard neighbors yard and came close to going into his dead (winter time) vegetable garden which has no fence and is about 3X4 feet. To top it off it is a mobile home village which means the land is rented. My nephew went to get the ball and he approached my nephew and said "If that ball comes in my yard again I'm going to break your fu@&ing legs!!"
Outraged, I approached him and he eventually apologized and I told him thats assault on a minor and he said it was not. He then pretty much ended the conversations rudely and walked away. I don't want to press charges since its a minor neighbor thing but I definitely would like the guy to learn his lesson.
First...What is this considered? Harrassment on a minor? Assault on a minor? Nothing?
Second: Is their anything that I could file with the local police department as a "warning" in case anything were to ever happen in the future?
