I've been charged with negligent driving and unsafe operation of the MV. Nobody was hurt. My court date is this week and I've hired an attorney. Is continuance without finding the best option? I'm on an H1B visa - will a continuance without fining have a negative impact on my immigration status? I've consulted a couple immigration lawyers and they all have told me that since it's not a crime of moral turpitude, I will be fine. And, that taking the case to trial and losing is the same as doing a continuance without finding. Please advise.

My questions are:

While I'm on prabation, in case I do foreign travel, will I have issues in the re-entry to the US?
Will I have problems in the citizenship application in a year or few years from now?

I suggest you retain an attorney.

It isn't smart to plead to any criminal (or driving) charge without the benefit of your own attorney.

You need one.

Hire one, ASAP.
