I am currently married to a man that has 2 children with his ex. Now here is the thing he actually has 1 biological child with her, the other one is not 'really' his. He got with his ex when his daughter was 6 months old. Recently we had to take her to court in order to see his son(Biologicaly his) she had kept him from them for 9 months. Everything was settled in court that he got everyother weekend and alt. holidays, ect... Here is the thing his daughter (not really his) and his son complain that they no longer want to be with their mother and that they would really want to be with my husband and I. They are constantly telling us that they are always being yelled at and they keep coming back to our house with bruises and or marks. when we ask them where they get the marks they tell us they dont remember or they try to hide it and say 'oh i didnt know i had that'. Which we know its not true. My step son is 8 and my step daughter is 10. Now i dont think that there is really anything we can do about the 10 year old becuase she is not leagally his. But what can we do about the 8 year old. It is constant the kids hide from us when we say that they have to go home and they always cry i really hate to see them like that. I dont know what else to do. Please Help!

Well, we know how YOU feel, but you have nothing to do with this situation. This is between the father and mother of the child(ren). What does your husband want, and what has he done about the situation?

Dad needs to file for custody of his son if he wants it but he has to prove the child is better off with him. he will not get custody just because the child wants to move in. He is too young to voice his opinion.

As far as the girl, it sounds like your husband has no rights to her at all. When they divorced did he try to get rights? Does she have a legal father out there somewhere? itis too late for him to secure rights to this child now if he was not awarded any in the divorce. He should see an attorney.
