Need help with NY State laws please...

My friend is getting a divorce and needs help. He and his wife have already filed separation papers. They didn't have any kids or property (housing, cars, etc. invloved so it was easy to decide). He gave her everything but his tools and clothes and personal items. He offered to pay her support each week but she would not accept it. Now, after she is with someone else she wants to take him for a divorce and change all the agreement as far as support goes etc. Her new "friend" is paying for her divorce but can the agreement just be changed like that?

I don't know the details of the separation agreement. That's probably the best place to start looking although a divorce hasn't been issued yet so it would seem that there are still many variables to be determined before the final decree is issued.
