I was shopping at a kmart and I was looking in their clearance bins and I stuck my hand inside and got a fishing hook stuck in my hand. They had to call the paramedic who could not remove the hook and I then had to go to the er when they removed the hook and I had to get a stitch in the top part of my hand. I was on pain meds for a week along with antibiotics. They had an outside investigator contact me to recieve myside of the story and then said she would get back with me on a settlement. I told her exactly what happened and she called back about a week later and offered me $300. I do not think that this is a fair amount. Considering my insurance is the ones who covered my medical bill, which was $600, and if this would have happened to a child they never would have offered such a low amount! I am wondering if I should accept the offer or get a lawyer!? Thanks
