I have a precarious situation. My ex and I are in a nasty custody dispute, but it's not really him i'm having to battle. I'm fighting his parents who are fighting back through him.
Currently, under temp orders, he has standard posession but must be supervised by his parents and/or sister all of which he lives with. He is also not allowed to drive our daughter. This is due to the fact that he suffers from PTSD and other medical problems and is highly medicated. He is also facing two charges of DWI and has totaled two vehicles with 4 months of each other.
Any way, our daughter is receiving her sacraments at the end of April and luckily both families are Catholic, so this isn't the problem. The problem is that my ex, who hasn't been involved AT ALL during this process, has decided to name his father a sponsor which would make him a joint sponsor with my aunt, a nun. Our daughter doesn't want this and this isn't being done because my ex cares...it's more underhandedness from his parents.
I have notified my attorney of this, but wanted to see if anyone here could answer my question as to whether I can block my ex's choice of his father. The coordinator of religion is willing to remove my ex's choice if my attorney says it's okay. She is quite aware of the situation and in truth, the sponsors forms were due almost 2 months ago.
Any advice or anything I can do. This is supposed to be a special night for our daughter and they didn't even ask her about appointing her granddaddy, whom she doesn't want!
