Nasty Support Modification: Need Help!

We are in the process of a modification of child support in Ct. I have the kids and my ex-wife has visitation. The judge amended the original agreement in December and child support went up. My ex hired a lawyer and is challenging the motion. I, of course, also hired a lwyer and we're battling everything now. Our court date is Monday 1/14. We JUST got a call that our case has been moved from the Civil Family court to a GA Criminal Court. Our lawyer says he has never had this happen in a support modification case. Can anyone let me know how this happens and why?

Normally the family court has exclusive jurisdiction. Only your lawyer would have a clue.
